Privately-held Longhorn Vaccines and Diagnostics LLC is focused on vaccine and diagnostic product development harnessing the capabilities of molecular biology to develop and commercialize products for influenza, MBT and other diseases. Our PrimeSuite™ technologies are designed to efficiently work on a wide range of existing nucleic acid extraction, qPCR and next generation sequencing (NGS) platforms.
Specifically, PrimeStore® Molecular Transport Medium (MTM) facilitates and simplifies sample collection and non-hazardous cold chain-free transportation (including long distance international shipping without dry ice) by effectively lysing/inactivating viral and bacterial pathogens and preserving and stabilizing naked RNA and DNA at ambient or elevated temperatures for extended periods.
PrimeStore MTM® provides safe samples for molecular diagnostics, viral loads and NGS of different human, animal, avian, aquaculture, environmental, plant and other samples, including blood/plasma/serum, fecal, urine, sputum, nasal and other secretions/bodily fluids/swabs, cloacal samples, insect vectors and fresh tissue. PrimeStore MTM® is also being used to collect and transport home-collected samples in a clinical trial, and the samples can be biobanked in the same cryotubes for long-term studies.
Other PrimeSuite™ products include a range of flocked PrimeSwabs™ for sample collection, PrimeXtract™ nucleic acid extraction benchtop kit, PrimeMix® temperature stable RT-PCR premixed assays that do not have to be disposed of if accidentally left out on the benchtop for extended periods, and PrimeSeq™ reagents for NGS, specifically at this time for MTB drug resistance testing. Look for the future launch of PrimeBeadsÔ for nucleic acid purification and concentration for benchtop or robotic, high throughput extraction.
