Welcome to the first “Call for Posters” in ALMA’s 34 year history!

The Association of Laboratory Managers (ALMA) 2013 annual conference Poster Forum is designed to focus our members’ creative energies on communicating their most significant, successful managerial accomplishment to date.  The poster authors will also be requested to present their current most significant challenge and proposed solution(s).  The Poster Forum will be held on Wednesday evening, 6:00 p.m., October 23rdduring the ALMA cocktail reception to foster knowledge sharing in a relaxed atmosphere.  This is an excellent opportunity for you to help drive the conference agenda, learn from the best of today’s laboratory managers and enjoy the beautiful weather and activities in Orlando, FL.

The two-section posters should include:

Section 1: Primary Managerial Accomplishment

Examples include, but are not limited to, most impactful best practice initiated, capabilities built, efficiencies achieved or productivity gained.  In essence, what change have you made that provided the most positive impact to your laboratory?  Additional examples include the use of insourcing or outsourcing, fee for service initiatives, single source instrument service contracts, automated sample preparation, etc.

Section 2: Primary Managerial Challenge and Action Plans

Examples include, but are not limited to, resource limitations (space, head count, or funding), meeting client’s needs, senior management support, use of contract technicians and turnover.  In essence, what major challenge are you facing and what plans are in place to address that challenge?

Please submit the title of your proposed primary accomplishment section, plus your affiliation and contact information, directly to William Bonorden (william.bonorden@pepsico.com) via email on or before June 28th.  Only the topic title is required.  Those selected to present will be notified by August 1.  Additional information is located on the ALMA website (www.labmanagers.org).

We are looking forward to a great interactive and informative forum.  Thanks in advance for your participation.
